The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Region 2, seeks bids for construction of a precast concrete arch box culvert/water control structure (bridge), earthwork, cast-in-place concrete footing and stop log gate supports, removal of existing concrete bridge, removal and reinstallation of existing stop log gates and supporting steel structure, dewatering, cofferdams for dewatering, a ditch to divert water around the structure during construction and a crossing over that ditch for movement of construction equipment. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Bid, performance, and payment bonds will be required. This project is located at Laguna Astascosa National Wildlife Refuge in Rio Hondo, Texas. This is a Labor Surplus Area Set Aside (LSA). The LSA stipulation is that an offeror agrees to perform substantially in the LSA when this is consistent with the efficient performance of the contract and at prices no higher than are obtainable elsewhere.
