(215)697-9577 The contractor shall provide to the Naval Aviation
Engineering Service Unit (NAESU), Navy Civilian Technical Specialists
(NCTS). 240 hours of training on the AN/APS-145 Radar System. This
training shall be provided to a minimum of four (4) and and maximun of
eight (8) personnel. Instruction shall be presented at an engineering
level sufficent to equip the student with knowledge required to
maintain the AN/APS-145 Radar in the E2C Enviroment organizational
level and bench level maintenance intermediate level. The contractor
shall provide a course of instruction to include theory of operation,
new devices, operation and, maintenance and repair. Instruction shall
cover the difference between the AN/APS-138 and AN/APS-139/145. The
training to be furnished shall be coordinated by mutual agreement
between the Contractor and Naval Aviation Engineering Service Unit
(NAESU). Training shall take place at the Contractor's facility, on or
about 1 Aug 95. The eventual contract action is for services which the
Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Martin Marietta, Ocean
Radar & Sensors Systems, Utica New York, under the authority of FAR
6-302.1. Martin Marietta is the only supplier of these services at this
time. This firm is the Original Equipment Manufaacturer and the only
known source with the required Technical and Engineering Expertise and
the requisite data base to perform the required services. THIS NOTICE
OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested
parties may identify their interests and technical capability to
respond to this requirement. Interested parties who contend they are
technical qualified should submit within forty-five (45) days from the
publication of this notice, specific factual data including but not
limited to: technical resumes, corporate management experience, and
other pertinent information as so desired to be used as an evaluation
basis to determine competience to successfully perform the required
services. All technical proposals received within the 45 days notice
will be considered by the Government. The Governemnt reserves the right
not to open this requirement to competition based upon technical
responses to this notice. Technical responses and requests received as
a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely
for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive
procurement. The Government WILL NOT PAY for information received. All
