This requirement is a competitive procurement for the design, development, documentation, fabrication, testing and delivery of Surface Targets Radar Simulator (STRS) Transmitters consisting of four different bands. The bands required are I, H, E and F. The STRS transmitter is a single, complete, 250 kW (peak power), operational unit containing all components necessary for producing pulsed microwave energy as specified in the Government specification which will be contained in the solicitation package provided to interested parties. The STRS transmitter, including magnetron, modulator, power supply, and control circuits shall be configured in a single modular design within an aluminum enclosure, designed for operating a family of magnetrons. The magnetrons may be supplied as Government Furnished Equipment to the awarded contractor. The STRS transmitters shall be configured as follows: I-BAND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS, including magnetron, modulator, power supply and control circuits, shall not exceed: Weight: 36.3 kg. (80 lbs); Width: 40.64cm (16 in.); Length: 50.8 cm (20 in.); Height: 29.21 cm (11.5 in.). PFR RANGE: 160 - 4500 PPS. PULSE WIDTH: 0.2 - 0.8 microseconds variable. H-BAND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS, including magnetron, modulator, power supply and control circuits, shall not exceed: Weight - 54.4 kg. (120 lbs); Width: 50.8 cm (20 in.); Length: 60.96 cm (24 in.); Height: 49.53 cm (19.5 in.); PRF RANGE: 160 - 4500 PPS; PULSE WIDTH: 0.2 - 0.8 microseconds variable. E-BAND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: including magnetron, modulator, power supply and control circuits, shall not exceed: Weight: 54.4 kg. (120 lbs.); Width: 50.8 cm (20 in.); Length: 60.96 cm. (24 in.); Height: 49.53 cm. (19.5 in.). PRF RANGE: 160 - 4500 PPS; PULSE WIDTH: 0.4 - 1.2 microseconds variable. F-BAND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS, including magnetron, modulator, power supply and control circuits, shall not exceed: Weight: 54.4 kg. (120 lbs.); Width: 50.8 cm. (20 in.); Length: 60.96 cm. The contract that results from this synopsis will be an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity, Firm Fixed Price contract which will fulfill NAWCWPNS Point Mugu, Surface Targets Team's need through Fiscal Year 1997. Estimated quantities and deliveries: First Article unit, 1 each, due 180 days after contract award, initial production units, 6 each, due 30 days after First Article approval. Subsequent orders will be made through delivery orders in quantities of between 10 - 20, due 210 days after the effective date of the order. If First Article requirement is waived: initial production units, 7 each, due 210 days after contract award. Subsequent orders will be made through delivery orders, in quantities of between 10 - 20, due 210 days after effective date of the delivery order. Total estimated quantity of transmitters: 52.
