The Corps of Engineers intends to issue a Request for Proposals for the supply and installation of a controlled enviromental chamber in support of Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, TX. The chamber shall be a freestanding, prefabricated, 4-inch foamed-in-place polyurethane structure measuring 9'8''H x 11'L x 14'W. The interior shall be lined with 18 gauge aluminum. The exterior shall be lined with 20 gauge aluminum. Seven of the side wall panels shall be provided with 2''D x 30''W full length integral air duct panels. Panel construction shall consist of 100% urethane insulation bonded to the interior and exterior metal panel skins and heat cured for life long stability. Insulation shall be 4'' thick, rigid urethane foamed-in-place with a 2.5 lbs. per cubic foot design density. Floor construction shall be similar to wall panels except designed to withstand uniformly distributed floor loads of up to and including 500 pounds per square foot. Lighting shall be energy efficient lamp and ballast, recessed, vapor-proof flourescent fixtures to provide a minimum of 100 F.C. at nominal 30 inches above floor level. The room shall be furnished, complete with all electrical power and controls, ready for single point connection of 208 volt, 200 amp, three phase, four wire power to a fused safety switch which shall be furnished with the chamber. The required delivery/installation date is 30 Jan 96. A fixed price contract shall be awarded as a result of this solicitation. The solicitation will be issued on or before 30 Jun 95. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns. All responsible small business sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency.
