89 -- PRIME VENDOR SUBSISTENCE PROGRAM Contact CW4 Lois J. Pyrdum, 615/532-3219, or Contracting Officer, MAJ James L. Coonce, 615/532-3220. The Tennessee Army National Guard requires a subsistence prime vendor program for the supply and distribution of food items directly to end users within the State of Tennessee as well as out-of-state Annual Training sites. The prime vendor will be required to deliver the rations to the unit armory location on the Thursday prior to the unit drill. Each unit will have a different account number and the vendor should be able to provide some statistical information on each account or groups of accounts. Due to the different number of personnel in each unit, the vendor should be able to supply less than case lots when required. In addition to the monthly drills, called Inactive Duty Training (IDT), each unit normally has two weeks of Annual Training (AT) each year. Some units conduct AT in-state, while most units go out of state to places such as Fort Stewart, Georgia or Camp Shelby Mississippi. The prime vendor should be prepared to support both out-of-state and in-state AT periods. At the present time, there are approximately 100 armories across the state of Tennessee and approximately 11,000 troops who will be supported by the prime vendor. The IDT requirement for support will be approximately 22,000 meals monthly. The in-state AT support for 1995 is approximately 3,200 personnel for 15 days for a total of 144,000 meals. Approximately 6,800 troops perform annual training out-of-state, accounting for 306,000 meals. The acquisition will be for a one year period plus option periods which will be determined at a later date and a pre-solicitation conference detailing our requirements will also be scheduled at a later date. All interested sources should submit to this office a company brochure or a letter outlining their capabilities of performance, major categories of food, and a list of their distributors within the local areas that could service our armories.
