POC Mr. Charles W. Grewe (301) 496-4611. The Contraceptive and
Reproductive Evaluation Branch, National Institute of Child Health and
Human Development, intends to conduct negotiations with the State
University of New York to extend a current contract for completion of
existing requirements. The contractor will compare hormone levels of
women who have undergone tubal sterilization with women who have not,
to detemine whether certain medical conditions are more likely to occur
following the sterilization procedure. All study subjects have been
identified, databases have been created and analytic work is in
progress. Contractor has rights to raw data. It is estimated that
completion of this study will require an additional 12 months.
Authority: 41 USC 253 (c)(1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Inherent
duplication of cost to the Government and unacceptable delays in
completing the project make competition unfeasible. See Note 22. (156) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0006 19950607\A-0006.SOL)
