Conversion from steam heating, asbestos abatement, new HVAC, electrical
and roofing upgrades at the Woodland Job Corps Center located in
Laurel, Maryland. The work to be performed under this project consists
of elimination of the center's dependency on the deteriorated and
outmoded steam heating system, removal of all friable asbestos from the
center, and provision of other mechanical, electrical and roofing
upgrades for seven center buildings. The work involves construction
services for abatement of friable asbestos in Building A, D, E, F, K
and M; roof repair/replacement at Buildings D, E, F, K and M; the
installation of packaged rooftop heating and air conditioning systems
in Buildings D, E, F and K; the replacement of several shop lighting
fixtures and the installation of two through-the-wall heat pumps and a
hot water boiler in Building G; and the installation of a split system
heating and air conditioning unit in Building M. The estimated cost
range of construction is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Substantial
completion shall be 294 calendar days from the notice to proceed.

calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for plans
and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to
ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in writing.
Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until
supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is
exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a
fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual
cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A pre-bid
walk-thru is scheduled for July 11, 1995, at 9:00 a.m. local time.
Bid-opening date is August 2, 1995, at 2:00 p.m. local time. This a
100% Small Business Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Classification
