C -- ARCHITECT-ENGINEER DESIGN SERVICES FOR A NEW FIRE HOUSE AT THE DELAWARE AIR NATIONAL GUARD Contact Mary Brewin, 302/324-7351 or Jose' Quintana 302/324-7347. Work may consist of preparation of reports, studies, design criteria and general A-E services to include construction cost estimates. Design services for Type A, and Type B with Type C to be exercised as an option upon negotiations with the Contracting Officer. Type A services shall include, but not limited to, field surveys, investigations, testings, excavations, research, examinations, and measurements required to obtain data essential to the performance of Type B services. Type B services include calculations, designs, cost estimates, drawings and specifications. Design shall be based on project books or statement of works to be furnished by the Government and on conclusions reached by the exercise of Type A services. Type C services shall include all labor, equipment, and materials required for complete construction inspection, and review of submittal and shop drawings. The Type C service will be negotiated with the A-E at the discretion of the Contracting Officer as an option basis. The A-E selection criteria will include in the order of importance: (1) Professional Qualifications (2) Specialized experience and technical competence in the planning and design of fire stations and office renovations. (3) Capacity to accomplish work on time. (4) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work and compliance with schedules. (5) Location of firm in the geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project (6) Volumes of work previously awarded to the firm by the Department of Defense (DOD). This project is to design a fire station and upgrades to the vacated spaces. Design for upgrade alterations to approximately 8000 SF of existing building to include refurbishing of administration spaces, upgrade of utilities and mechanical systems. The design for construction of a 11,300 SF fire station will consists of a reinforced concrete foundations and floor slab, steel framed masonry walls, roof structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC etc. The building will house crash and fire rescue personnel for operations to include apparatus bays, storage space, extinguisher maintenance shop, kitchen, dining area, control room, classroom, administration areas and bunkrooms. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Contract performance period will be begin on or about August 1995 and completed in approximately 8 months. The contract will include options. All interested and responsible contractors which can meet the requirements described in this announcement are invited to submit a current Standard Form 254 ``Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire'' and Standard Form 255 ``Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for this specific project'', not later than 30 days from the publication of this announcement in the CBD.
