6,000 square feet of covered parking in 2 (two) detached sheds. The
Parking Shed construction consists of standing-seam, steep-pitched
metal roofs over steel deck on steel joists and beams supported by
load-bearing masonry walls (enclosed on three sides). The site is
approximately 2.8 acres, is steeply sloping, partially wooded and is
currently traversed by a stream. Sitework will include the
encapsulation and rechannelization of the stream in accordance with
state and federal regulations as well as the placement of approxiately

monitored, in-place testing of the soil will be continuous and included
in the work. The site will be paved with both heavy-duty asphalt and
concrete and a remote parking area for privately-owned vehicles will be
included in the work. Power, natural gas, domestic water, fire
protection water, sanitary sewer and storm water utility connections
must be made around the perimeter of the site and be brought to the
building. An existing sanitary line crossing the site must be kept in
service or relocated during construction. Landscaping and irrigation
will be included in he work. The maintenance building construction will
consist of a standing-seam, steep-pitched metal roof over steel deck on
steel joists and beams supported by load-bearing masonry walls. Testing
of the concrete, steel and masonry construction will be continuous
throughout the process and included as part of the Contractor's
responsibility. This facility will house administrative functions
including offices, restrooms and a breakroom/classroom separated by a
rated masonry wall from the vehicle repair bays. A special bay for the
repair of Refueler Vehicles will be separated from the general repair
bays by a 2-hour masonry fire-wall and will include a below-grade pit,
a 3-ton capacity bridge crane as well as explosion-proof lighting and
equipment throughout. Equipment and special systems to be installed in
the repair bays include vehicle lifts, a trolley hoist, a bridge
crane, carbon monoxide removal systems, motor oil, gear oil and lube
oil dispensing and piping systems, fume-sensing emergency ventilation
systems and an air compressor with a piping and dispensing system.
Electrical work will include all associated equipment, conduit and
wiring to convey power to all equipment and areas, telephone system,
lighting (standard fixtures and explosion-proof fixtures, fire alarm
system including pull stations, smoke and terminal detectors, horn and
light signals and control panel, intercom system, Monaco antenna and
transmitter and site lighting. Mechanical work will include all
associated equipment and ductwork for venting, heating and cooling
certain areas as well as only heating and ventilating others. A radiant
heating system will be used in the repair bays. Plumbing work will
include all equipment and piping to provide potable water, natural gas
and waste water conveyance throughout the facility, as well as a sump
pump, an oil/water separator, fire protection sprinkler system,
emergency eye-wash and shower system and special acid containment
system at the Battery Storage room. A separate bay will be constructed
for the washing of vehicles and will include the relocation and
installation of an existing roller-brush type washing system. This
project also includes the demolition and removal of 3 (three)
single-story buildings located on another part of the base. All
construction debris must be removed from the base and disposed of in
accordance with all federal, state and local regulations. All of the
