The advertisement for Renovate and Repair Building 502, Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, which appeared in Commerce Business Daily on May 22, 1995, is hereby CLARIFIED to define ''Small Disadvantaged Business Set-Aside.'' Under Federal law, a small disadvantaged business concern is a small business concern at least 51% owned by a person or persons defined as ''socially and economically disadvantaged'' by the Small Business Administration. The SBA's definition of ''socially and economically disadvantaged'' includes racial and ethnic groups such as African American, Native American, Asian-Pacific American, Subcontinent Asian American, and Hispanic American. Note that, under the SBA's definition, a woman-owned small business is considered disadvantaged ONLY if the owner(s) are members of one or more of the groups described above. Only small disadvantaged businesses as defined by the SBA are eligible to bid on this solicitation, and copies of the solicitation will only be issued to small disadvantaged businesses. Potential suppliers will be given a copy of the plan holders' list ONLY, if they request it. As stated in the original CBD advertisement, principal features of the project include general construction, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structural and interior painting. Estimated magnitude of the contract is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about June 15, 1995. Actual bid due date will be 30 calendar days after actual issue date.
