(513) 255- 2187. The U.S. Air Force, Aeronautical Systems Center
intends to acquire on a sole-source basis C-130J and other C-130
derivative aircraft from Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Company, 86
South Cobb Drive, Marietta GA 30063-0290, the developer and sole
producer of C-130 aircraft. The contract will be a five-year contract
(firm quantity for first year plus options for first year and four
additional years) for up to and including 42 aircraft per year to cover
the requirements of the various users, the aircraft shall be a
monoplane capable of maintaining an 8,000 feet cabin altitude at 32,400
feet flight altitude. Interior of the aircraft shall include a flight
deck plus a cargo compartment that is a minimum of 40 feet long, 9 feet
high, and 10 feet wide with ramp for loading wheeled vehicles. The
aircraft shall carry a 41,982 pound load. Takeoff distance on hard
surfaces at minimum weight shall be less than 4,000 feet and landing
distance less than 2,550 feet. The aircraft shall be able to operate
from a variety of airfield surfaces consisting of sand, bare dirt,
grass, gravel, metal landing mats, asphalt and concrete. The aircraft
shall also be able to maintain 325 knot cruising speed at 100,000
pounds gross weight at 25,000 feet flight altitude and be designed to
perform, when necessary a one-engine-out terrain following mission. All
of the required performance parameters listed in this paragraph are
specified in the Lockheed C-130J Model Specification for the Five-Year
Contract, ER/S-7100M/J, 15 Jul 94 (Lockheed Model 382U-445-92
aircraft). Other C-130 type Derivative Aircraft will also be acquired
by using a LASC designated C-130 model specification. Copies of the
C-130J Model Specification should be obtained from the current C-130
aircraft producer, Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Company (ATTN: Mr Bill
Surls, (404) 494-5906, 86 S. Cobb Drive, Marietta GA 30063-0001). In
addition, the contract will provide for peculiar support equipment,
spare parts, technical and engineering data, interim contractor
support, flight testing and equipment testing, technical manuals, Type
I maintenance training, initial cadre flight training and world-wide
