COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 9,1995 PSA#1364U.S. Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration,
Acquisition Management Branch, P.O. Box 18233, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 66 -- INFRARED DETECTION EQUIPMENT Sol J2850318. Due 072795. Contact.
William Och, 412/892-6544, Contracting Specialist. The Government
intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Summit Analyzers,
Inc., Livermore, CA, for infrared detection equipment. These
instruments will be used to monitor gases in the event of a mine fire
or explosion. Compatability with existing equipment, extended time
monitoring, and use with an automated remote data
acquisition/transmission system, which has been specifically designed
for the existing equipment, is essential. Statutory authority for this
acquisition is FAR 6.302-1, ``only one responsible source will satisfy
agency requirements''. This notice is not a request for proposals.
However, any firm desiring consideration is required to fully identify
their interest and demonstrate their capabilities, in writing, within
15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis to William Och
at the above address. All responses must clearly identify offeror's
ability to provide the required equipment. The response must be
sufficient to permit agency analysis to establish a bonafide capability
to meet the requirements. It is requested that pricing data be included
as part of the response, including terms and conditions. Failure to
submit complete documentation will result in the Government proceeding
as stated above. No solicitation documents are available. Simple
requests for an RFP will not be considered an affirmative response to
this synopsis. The Government reserves the right not to compete this
requirement based on an evaluation of responses received as a result of
this notice. No telephone requests accepted. See Note 22. (157) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0448 19950608\66-0006.SOL)
