anticipates issuing a competitive procurement for advisory and
assistance services to collect data on the current status of nutrition
knowledge of children attending American schools. The contractor will
be responsible for examining the current level of nutritional
knowledge of children; identifying gaps in the nutritional knowledge of
children; and identifying and examining variables related to varying
levels of nutrition knowledge. The initial data collection will be from
a nationally representative sample of fourth grade students. There will
be options included in the contract which, if exercised, would
incorporate data from the eighth and twelfth grades. The estimated
level of effort is 11 person years over a 16 month calendar period.
