Beckner, Jr. The proposed contract is for an Employee Assistance Program for the Social Security Administration Offices located throughout the eight Southeastern States. These states include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. There are in excess of 7,000 SSA employees located in these eight states. These employees arehousedin over 250 offices, ranging in size from eight employees at the smallest field office, to over 600 employees in the Regional Office in Atlanta, Georgia. Office Components include The Social Security Administration Office of the Regional Commissioner, Office of Hearing and Appeals, Regional Program and Integrity Reviews, Office of Inspector General, and the Office of The Chief Counsel. The contractor must be qualified in the area of Employee Assistance/Employee Counseling to meet the needs of the Government to assist its employees in problem areas including alcohol, drug abuse, and other personal problems that may affect the employee's ability to function on the job. The proposed contract will provide for a number of crises intervention, as well as post-crises counseling sessions on an as needed bases and a number of training sessions at the Field and Regional Office levels. In addition, on site counseling will be required at the Regional Office in Government furnished space at a pre-determined number of hours per week.
