On or about Thursday, June 8, 1995, the United States Postal Service, Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT, 06006-0300, will issue Solicitation No. 082530-95-A-0071 to pre-qualify general contractors for a multi-phased project at the Boston Vehicle Maintenance Facility located at 135 ''A'' Street in Boston, MA. The estimated cost of the work is between $3,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. Primary factors for consideration for pre-qualification are (in descending order of importance) 1. Past and ongoing performance as a general construction contractor performing repair and alteration projects similar in nature to this project; 2. Their financial strengths including bonding capability, banking references, and financial statement; 3. Their quality performance program, project control, ability to run a phased project and work completed by contractor's own forces; 4. Their capacity of the company's current staffing, manpower, equipment, resources, and current workload; 5. Their past and current performance in repair and alteration work in the Boston Metropolitan or similar urban area. Applications will be evaluated by a USPS committee and all firms will be advised of their pre-qualification status in writing. The scope of this project consists of new roof, life safety improvements, HVAC, architectural barriers improvements, and other miscellaneous work.
