The project includes replacing two existing Peerlesws boiler feed water pumps (P-7B and P-8) at Bldg. 6203, Central Heat and Power Plant, with two new multistage skid mounted pumps capable of delivering 800 GPM at 1500 feet head each. Each pump must have a recirculation system with automatic and manual controls, a dual lubrication system for the bearings, and mechanical seals. Pump P-7B is steam driven (600 lb.) and requires replacement of steam driver. Pump P-8 is driven by a 200 hp, 3550 RPM, 355 Amp motor which also requires replacement (including variable speed motor driver). New motor size may differ from existing depending on pump selection. Pumps will be mounted on existing concrete pads (approximately 4'X 9'). Installation includes connection to existing water and steam piping, and installation of gauges and controls. Contractor will be responsible for disposal of demolished equipment. Contractor will provide spare seals, bearings, and gaskets for the new pumps, and provide acceptance tests and personal training. SIC code is 1711. The magnitude is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This action is being considered for 100% set-aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns should notify this office, in writing with supporting documents such as references and qualifications for a similar project, of their intent to bid as a prime contractor as early as possible but not later than 28 Jun 95. This project will issue on or about 13 Jul 95. Performance period shall be 90 Calendar Days.
