This is a notice of intent to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) 841-35064-0000/712 on a noncompetitive basis in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) ''Only One Responsible Source'' to Quantic Industries, 2751 San Juan Rd., Hollister, CA 95023. The items to be purchased are as follows: (1) 50 each, ignition cartridge, P/N 3300-1; (2) 50 each, pressure cartridge, P/N 7900-1; (3) 60 each, pressure cartridge, P/N 6104-1; and (4) 50 each guillotine, P/N 5801-1. Delivery to Wallops Island is required 120 days after award of purchase order. These devices are to be used with existing payload systems. The procured units must be identical to those previously supplied by Whittaker Ordnance (now Quantic Industries). The manufacturing drawings and specifications are proprietary to Quantic Industries and are not available for solicitation purposes. No other manufacturer is known to have the necessary information and capabilities to provide compatible devices. It is anticipated that the RFQ resulting in a purchase order will be issued on or about June 28, 1995. Any firms desiring consideration are requested to fully identify their capability to supply these devices within 15 days of publication of this synopsis to GSFC/WFF and the individual listed above.
