66 -- PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS SOL 8-P-5-15-87874 POC Contact GP26-B/Gladys Franklin, 205-544-0331, or GP25/Jane Maples NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) Pressure Transducer -- NASA/MSFC intends to purchase from Eaton Corporation the following items: Item 1, Pressure Transducer, SSME, Eaton Part Number 41SG-302; Quantity 3 each -- Item 2, Pressure Transducer, SSME, Eaton Part Number 41SG-302(s), Sectioned for internal viewing; Quantity 1 each -- The pressure transducers shall be functionally and operationally equivalent to the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) pressure transducers -- They shall have mounts and electrical interfaces to adapt to the SSME and shall meet the following specifications: Dual output signals proportional to the applied pressure; 0-30mV output proportional to pressure; operational temperature range of minus 65 to plus 165 F; total error shall not exceed plus or minus 1.0% full scale output; and applied pressure shall be converted to electrical energy using 1500 ohm strain gauges -- This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA) -- Request for copies of the RFQ must be submitted in writing -- Transmission by facsimile to 205-544-9080 or by Internet e-mail to gladys.franklin@msfc.nasa.gov is acceptable -- Note: This sole-source procurement, described is based on system compatability requirements -- Interested firms have 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis to submit their qualifications/capabilities in the critical areas mentioned above, along with a request for a copy of the solicitation -- Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis -- Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered -- A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract, on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government -- Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice -- The RFQ will be released on or about 15 days after publication of this notice in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) -- The RFQ will have a 15 day response period -- All responsible business sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency.
