Contracting Officer, 301-443-1191 This proposed contract is 100%
set-aside for small business concerns, under SIC Code 8731, with a size
standard of 500 employees or less. The National Institute on Alcohol
Abuse and Alcoholism requires two (2) repeated dose acute toxicity
studies, one of MDL-100-907 and the other of WYE-100-635, each to be
conducted in mice and rabbits. Prospective offerors shall submit their
proposals in accordance with the following minimum requirements.
Offerors shall furnish test animals, provide husbandry and all services
for toxicology studies in mice and rabbits. Mice shall be strain CD-1,
male and female (females nulliparous and non-pregnant), age (at study
initiation) 4-6 weeks, 5 weeks preferred. Rabbits shall be strain New
Zealand white, male and female (females nulliparous and non-pregnant),
adult, 6 months of age. Offerors shall be a recognized laboratory with
expertise in repeated dose acute toxicology pathology studies.
Offerors shall have a thorough knowledge of the FDA requirements and
GLP regulations for preclinical animal toxicology/pathology tests that
are requisite for human use for new diagnostic drugs. Offerors shall
be a USDA registered facility, and have or obtain prior to contract
award, an approved assurance statement on file with OPRR, NIH. The
Government contemplates awarding a four month contract as a result of
this solicitation. The Government reserves the right to award two
separate contracts resulting from this solicitation. The anticipated
start date of the new contract is September 29, 1995. Requests for
