MARKET SURVEY - IAW FAR 5.201 this notice is issued for the purpose of conducting a market survey to locate possible additional sources for Launch Pad elevator refurbishment for Launch Complex 41, at Cape Canaveral Air Station, Florida. It is the intent of the Air Force to award a sole source contract to Hoist-CO, Inc, 819 Ames Street, Baldwin City, Kansas for this effort. All work must be accomplished during launch window of 29 Jun 95 thru 30 Sept 95. Work includes repairing, modifying and upgrading the Champion Hoist MST Elevator 1200, rack and pinion freight elevator and the Champion Hoist UT 3000, rack and pinion, passenger and freight elevator. Work shall include replacing existing landing doors, electro-mechanical door switches, retiring cams and all related wiring, refurbishing and providing maintenance accessibility to elevators and final testing and code certification. This effort is for completion of ongoing tasks performed by this contractor under an original competitive acquisition. The contract's administrative responsibility has been transferred to Patrick AFB, FL for the duration of task completion. All future follow-on tasks of this nature will be awarded in a comptetitive arena. The SIC code applicable to this acquisition is 1791 and the Small Business size standard is $7.0M. This synopsis is for informational purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals. Interested firms are requested to provide evidence of a capability to perform this specific task by submitting a statement of capability not later than 15 days after publication of this synopsis. This capability package will be evaluated based on the contractor's technical and management expertise in the area of refurbishing and repairing industrial elevators verified by a listing of prior contracts for similar work in the public and private sector with contract numbers, dates and references for each project. The package must also contain evidence that the contractor has the resources to mobilize to meet the tight window of performance.
