SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR UPGRADE 12 EAST PATIENT CARE UNIT, BUILDING 10, NIH, BETHESDA MD. Work shall be inclusive of, but not limited to the following: *Asbestos abatement. *Demolition. *Drywall and metal stud walls. *Plastic laminate finish casework. *Doors. *Fire stop all existing and new penetrations through fire walls, chases, floor slab, etc. *New finishes: carpet and hospital grade sheet vinyl, paint and vinyl wall covering, acoustical ceiling tile and grid. *New toilet accessories, one new bathroom. *Electrical demolition and new work: rewire and ground existing receptacles and lights, relamp and relens some existing fixtures, replace some existing fixtures, etc. *HVAC/Medical Gas: replace register and ductwork, provide some new ones. Provide new connections and valves for medical gas, provide pre and post renovation air reading reports. Contract performance period will be 140 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The magnitude of this fixed-price construction contract is estimated to be between $250,000 and $500,000, inclusive of options. The basis of award will be the low Base Bid plus Options #1 and #2, subject to availability of funds. Plans and Specifications will be available on or about June 30, 1995 from the Bid Custodian, 9000 Rockville Pike, Building 13, Room G-800, Bethesda, Maryland at a non-refundable cost of $100.00. Payment must be in the form of Cashier's check, Money Order or Certified check only. Checks shall be made payable to the National Institutes of Health. A letter on company letterhead must be enclosed indicating the address to which all agenda and communications should be transmitted. Request for the IFB must cite the IFB No. 263-95-B(CP)-0220. Telephone requests will not be accepted. The Pre-Bid Conference/Site Visit will be held on July 15, 1995 at 1:00 p.m. on the NIH campus in Building 13, Room G-800. Bids will be due on or about August 1, 1995. Further information concerning the bid opening will be noted in the IFB.
