Correnti, 215/656-6137 Provide all labor, supervision, materials, supplies and equipment for the installation of a new hydraulic elevator, a main switchgear, and an attic stairs at the U.S. Customshouse in Norfolk, VA. The elevator consists of an oildraulic controlled passenger elevator with class A loading capacity. The electric service equipment include the main distribution panels, panel boards, current transformer cabinets and associated cabinets, pull box, copper insulated conductors, and conduits. New attic stairs will meet all aspects of life/safety codes, including fire protection, presence of hazardous materials, risk assessment, and historic significance. The construction work for the new elevator, switchgear and attic stairs shall be sensitive to the historical significance of the building. The project also includes maintenance of the elevators during the construction period and for one (1) year after the Government's acceptance of all the renovation work. Two (2) one (1) year options for extended maintenance service are also included. The solicitation requires that bidders demonstrate in a technical bid that the renovation work will be performed by a specialist, defined as a firm with at least 3 years of experience in installing and servicing elevators. The bidders must show successful performance of at least two prior projects of a similar size and nature. The bidders must also submit information detailing the experience of elevator mechanics and the project manager who will supervise maintenance. The maintenance portion of the contract must be performed by the contractor who performs the construction work or a sub-contractor licensed by the construction contractor to work on the elevators. The estimated cost range is $500,000 to $1,000,000. This procurement is issued under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is unrestricted as to size status.
