An existing 3200 square foot metal building requires modifications to make the building more energy efficient and to increase its usefulness and value to the Plant Materials staff. Major items of work consist of: roof replacement; outer wall construction; windows and doors replacement; electrical, plumbing, air lines, thermostat, telephone; lighting installation; office and bathroom heat installation; outer wall insulation; outer wall surface installation; office and bathroom flooring; and outside drainage. Performance time is 108 calendar days after Notice to Proceed is issued. Firm will be evaluated on the following factors, prioritized in descending order of importance: (1) cost proposal; (2) quality of materials being used; (3) ability and the effort expended by the contractor to locate and evauate sources, delivery and installation; (4) evaluation, research, and knowledge of required utility hookups and the most effective plumbing and electrical distribution; and (5) experience in constructing similar type buildings. A fixed-price contract is anticipated to be awarded resulting from this solicitation. The estimated price range is $25,000 to $100,000.
