Culp 501/543-7459 This is notice of the Governments intent to negotiate on a sole source basis with Integrated Separation Systems (ISS), Natick, Massachusetts 01760, for the following: AutoGen 1000 DNA Extractor, fully automated chemistry system designed specifically for the isolation/extraction of genomic DNA from animal cells. The system must extract genomic DNA from animal organs, blood, cells or nuclei that been predigested with proteinase, detergent and chelating agent; have an extraction volume range from 0.5 milliliter to 1.5 milliliter; perform digestion of cells or nuclei prepared from animal organs and blood and then automatically proceed to extraction DNA; extract DNA from at least 20 samples at one time with no human intervention; extract at least 40 samples at one time with no more than 30 minutes of human intervention; each sample kept separate with no contamination between samples or between runs; extract DNA from at least 40 predigested samples in one working day (8 hours); capable of processing, at one time, samples that each consist of cells, nuclei or predigestions from at least 100 milligrams of tissue; extract DNA from samples that each contain s little as 5 micrograms of DNA and as much as 100 micrograms of DNA; recover at least 70% of the DNA in the sample; produce DNA with an A260/A280 absorbance ratio of between 1.7 and 2.0; produce DNA of high quality suitable or a variety of molecular biology applications, i.e., polymerase chain reaction (PCR), restriction digestion, southern blotting and determination of 5- methyldeoxycytidine content by high pressure liquid chromatography; provide DNA at cycle end either as a precipitate or as a solution in low salt aqueous buffer; include operation software, user manual, in-lab installation and in-lab user training.See numbered 22 (0160)
