acquire Corporate Computing Systems for National Institutes of Health
(NIH). This contract will augment, upgrade, replace, maintain, and
support NIH Corporate Computing Systems in the Division of Computer
Research and Technology (DCRT) and in the Warren Grant Magnuson
Clinical Center. The Corporate Computing Systems consist of new and
existing IBM MVS and VM compatible mainframes and open systems, each of
which comprises software, processors, memory, on-line and off-line
storage, communication devices, and other subsystems and components
located at central and remote sites. In addition to equipment, this
contract will provide maintenance of both new and existing Government
furnished equipment and software, documentation, consumable supplies,
and support services such as system integration, installation, systems
analysis, and training. A firm-fixed-price, fixed-price with economic
price adjustment for labor intensive items, fixed-term lease to
ownership with option to purchase (LWOP) at any time prior to the term
of the lease, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity type contract
is planned. An eight year total contract life (five years for ordering
supplies, services and maintenance and three additional one year
options for ordering services and maintenance) is planned. A second
Request for Information (RFI), including a questionnaire, will be
provided to industry approximately 15 calendar days after publication
of this notice. Vendors will have approximately 3 weeks to respond to
the questionnaire. The Government will not formally respond to vendor
comments or questions but may consider incorporating comments into
revisions to the specification. Qualified firms are required to submit
written request to the contracting officer to be placed on the
Corporate Computing Systems source list. Sources responding to this
notice shall indicate whether they are a large, small, disadvantaged or
woman-owned business. For this synopsis a business concern is
considered small if the number of employees does not exceed 1,000. The
Government will not distribute printed copies of the RFI. A printed
copy is available at FEDCAC for inspection. Inspection of the RFI will

print a copy of the RFI at their own expense. A list of copying service
companies in the area will be provided. The RFI will be made available
to industry through the Hanscom Electronic RFP Bulletin Board (HERBB).
