This effort will consist of designing, engineering, testing, and producing a EWC that will be used to raise and lower personnel and equipment during maintenance activities in the Minuteman missile silos. The EWC will include a cage assembly, a support structure, a power interface assembly, transportation, storage containers, and all associated equipment necessary to support the EWC during its operational life. The contractor shall provide all engineering and technical documentation required to operate, maintain, and reprocure the EWC. The EWC operates near high explosive devices, as a result, any accident can have disastrous and extensive effects. Operational and personnel safety is of paramount importance. Anticipate release of Request for Proposal (RFP) approximately 15 July 95. Responsible sources should request a copy of this package in writing.
