The purpose of this connection is to perform remote login, file transfer, and electronic mail communication with academic, governmental, and other users of the Internet utilizing the TCP/IP protocol suite. The speed of this connectin must be upgradable from the current speed (10Mbps Ethernet) to higher levels as demand for access to the Library's network resources increases. The provider must maintain all portions of the connection up to the Library's Demarc (router). Complete specifications are provided in the solicitation to be issued about July 6, 1995.
