(eea), an agency of the ministry of Electricity and energy of the Arab
republic of Egypt, has secured financing from the African Development
Bank (afdb) and the Arab fund for economic and social Development for
several packages of the ayoun moussa power station project, which will
consist of two gas/oil-fired steam turbine generating units, each
capable of delivering 320 mw the financing of foreign currency costs of
the water and wastewater treatment package for the ayoun moussa power
station will be from the afdb the financing of local currency costs
shall be through the eea' s own resources eea is inviting international
contractors from afdb member countries to submit tenders for the
design, fabrication, shop-testing, delivery, erection, and start- up of
water and wastewater treatment systems as detailed in tender document
2001-cp-111 and summarized below one makeup demineralizer system to
treat desalinated water to produce approximately 35 liters per second
of demineralized water for units 1 and 2; one deep-bed condensate
polisher system with external regeneration equipment to remove
impurities from condensate to produce approximately 290 liters per
second of polished condensate for each unit; one sodium hypochlorite
feed system to electrolytically generate sodium hypochlorite from
seawater for each unit; one chemical feed system to prepare and inject
phosphate, oxygen scavenger and ph adjustment chemicals to the
condensate and feedwater system for each unit; and, one wastewater
treatment system to neutralize and treat wastewater generated on-site
(regeneration wastes, boiler blowndown, oily wastes, etc ) using
coagulation, settling, neutralization, etc, prior to disposal off-site
for each unit only suppliers from member countries of the afdb are
eligible to bid all goods and ancillary services to be supplied must
have their origin in member countries of the afdb the tender document
for the above package will be available at eea offices on 24 May 1995

USD 1,500 from national Bank of Egypt (main branch) account no
800/90/14, together with an application (original and two copies)
addressed to the Director General of Central purchasing Department at

listed the tender must be accompanied by a tender security, in an
acceptable form, equal to no less than 2 percent of the total tender
price or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency the
deadline for submission of tenders is 25 September 1995 at 1200 hours,
local time opening of bids the tenders will be opened at 1230 hours on
25 September 1995 in the presence of bidders' representatives who
choose to attend at the eea headquarters financing the project is
