301/619-3012. The Naval Medical Logistics Command has a requirement for
reagents and supplies for the operation and maintenance of a medical
laboratory in two 1000 bed acute care medical treatment facilities, the
Hospital Ships USS Comfort and USS Mercey. It is anticipated that the
contract will be a firm fixed price requirements contract for the base
year with four option years. These facilities are maintained in a
deployable status, but do not treat patients on a regular basis. The
contractor must provide reagents and supplies to maintain and verify
the quality control for the following equipment: Johnson & Johnson
(originally Kodak) Ektachem 700XR, 250, DT 60 II, E.I. Dupont ACA IV
clincial chemistry analyzers; Coulter T890 & Onyx Hematology Analyzers;
Medical Laboratory Automation 750 & 900 coagulation analyzers;
osmometers; Corning and Instrumentation Laboratories blood gas
analyzers, and other analyzers, on a routine scheduled basis. The
contractor must provide the capability to deliver 100% of those
laboratory reagents and supplies needed to operate the above facilities
for one month, within 96 hours of receipt of a delivery order. The
contractor must be capable of receiving delivery orders at any time
(i.e., 24 hours a day, 365 days a year) and delivering those reagents
and supplies to the location(s) specified in the delivery order.
Delivery locations are: Baltimore, MD; Norfolk Naval Station, VA; San
Diego Naval Station, CA; Oakland Naval Station, CA. The contractor must
provide resupply capability to deliver additional reagents and
supplies, packed and packaged for air transportation outside the
continental United States, in accordance with the applicable
regulations, and to destinations within the continental United States.
A ``DRAFT'' Statement of Work is anticipated to be released June 30,
1995. A Pre-Solicitation Conference is tentatively scheduled for the
first week in August 1995. Because of space availability, a limit of
two company representatives shall attend the conference and a RSVP is
required by July 19, 1995. Written questions and comments to the
``DRAFT'' Statement of Work must be submitted by the COB July 14, 1995.
All submitted questions will be answered (without identity) at the
conference. The time and location of the conference will be identified
at a later date. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be
issued in September 1995. Only written requests for copies of the
``DRAFT'' Statement of Work, and Solicitation will be honored. Requests
