Carderock Division, White Oak Site, Naval Surface Warfare Center intends to award one or more contracts to qualified firms possessing expertise and experience in Plasma Arc Waste Destruction technology. The offeror will be supplied a listing of perceived negative impact areas and technology gaps (GFI) concerning the installation of current technology plasma arc solid waste destruction systems aboard several different ship classes. The offerors will be required to state how they will address each impact area and technology gap in order to minimize the negative impacts. The awardee(s) will then be required to address each impact area and technology gap in substantial detail and provide their best effort to make a Plasma Arc Waste Destruction System as shipboard-compatible as possible. Finally, conceptual designs incorporating all of these anticipated improvements for each of the ship classes is also required. This requirement is for l80 days, with an estimated 2 man years of effort.
