The INU is a self-contained inertial navigator and serves as a prime source of navigation data, i.e., present position (latitude, longitude, altitude, direction cosines), aircraft attitudes (pitch, roll, azimuth), velocities (X,Y,Z) and steering information (magnetic drift, variation, drift angle).
