35 -- MUCK CARS Contact, Gail Sudul, Purchasing Agent, 702/295-2140. Reynolds Electrical & Engineering Co., Inc. (REECo), prime management and operations contractor to the Nevada Operation Office of the U.S. Department of Energy, seeks to identify qualified sources for up to ten muck cars. The muck cars will be used to haul debris from a tunnelling project. Each muck car will have an approximate capacity of 15 cubic yards. A suitable dumping mechanism shall be designed and furnished. The foundation design, if applicable, for the installation of the dumping mechanism, shall also be furnished. The units shall be configured to operate on 36 inch gauge 85# ASCE track with a gradient of plus or mius 3 percent. The overall width of each car shall not exceed 55 inches and the height shall not exceed 80 inches. Each car shall be furnished with air brakes. Only interested firms capable of manufacturing or supplying the units should respond. We contemplate that this acquisition will be set-aside to small businesses who employ 500 employees or less, unless an adequate number of small businesses are not identified. This does not mean that a large small business cannot respond to this sources sought synopis.
