Correnti,215 /656-6150 The General Services Administration's Mid-Atlantic Region is considering one or more contracts for the reclamation and indefinite off-site storage (or ''banking'') of chlorofluorocarbon refrigerants, particularly R-11. The coverage area would include government buildings in all areas of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware; and parts of Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey. Prospective contractors would need to provide certified refrigerants technicians to reclaim the refrigerant directly from air conditioning equipment at the government building, any equipment necessary to transport the refrigerant to the contractor's storage facility, equipment necessary to restore the refrigerant to usable condition, and facilities suitable for long-term storage of the material. Prospective contractors may also be required to convert (or provide credits for) R-11 refrigerant for R-123 or R-134a refrigerants. The anticipated contract would be for a base term of one-year, with an additional one- year option periods. The anticipated start of the contract is December 1, 1995. The quantity of refrigerant to be reclaimed and stored in indefinite and the locations unspecified within the several state area.
