THE FOLLOWING PROJECT DESCRIPTION HEREBY REPLACES PROJECT DESCRIPTION DATED 08 JUNE 95. The work includes the renovation of an existing 30,000 (approximate) square foot three story administration building originally constructed in the early 1930's. The purpose of the project is to support U.S. Air Force Reserve requirements. The work includes removal of certain existing partitions and construction of new partitions; provision of new interior finishes including new lay-in ceilings, wall coverings and floor coverings; replacement of window units with new units; new doors and door hardware; renovated latrine areas including new plumbing fixtures; demolition of the existing heating systems and provision of a new heating, ventilating and air conditioning system; new light fixtures; and new telephone, communication and computer outlets. The work also includes provision of an exterior elevator and access ramp for handicapped access and removal and replacement of access stairs to the building attic. Certain building materials to be demolished are covered with lead- containing paint and contain asbestos. THERE WILL BE 90 DAY 2 BID OPTION (S) FOR OPTION 1 - shall be all work relating to the exterior elevator, exterior ramp, elevator equipment room and all associated appurtenances including mechanical and electrical systems, as indicated and specified. Option Bid Item 2 shall be all work relating to the demolition of the existing attic stairs and provision of new attic stairs and all associated appurtenances as indicated and specified. EXCEPT WHEN IT IS DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAR 17.206(b) NOT TO BE IN THE GOVERNMENT'S BEST INTEREST, THE GOVERNMENT WILL EVALUATE OFFERS FOR AWARD PURPOSES BY ADDING THE TOTAL PRICE FOR ALL OPTIONS TO THE TOTAL PRICE FOR THE BASIC REQUIREMENT.
