Z -- REHABILITATION OF WARF ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION AT U.S. COAST GUARD SUPPORT GROUP NEW ORLEANS, LA SOL DTCG82-95-B-3WCA33 due 071595. Contact Point, Elizabeth Phillips, (305) 536-4152. This project consists of furnishing all labor, tools, equipment, material, transportation and supervision necessary to remove all existing wiring, conduit and cables underneath the wharf feeding the 480-volt sore ties and the 240-volt welding receptacles on the wharf, provide new cables and support system underneath the wharf between the industrial building and the 480-volt shore ties and 240-volt welding receptacles on the wharf, provide a new 400-amp shore tie receptacles, switch, support structure and protection cage, provide a new welding receptacle on the wharf, provide a new 200-amp breaker, provide new steel pull boxes, provide new wires in existing conduit in the industrial building, provide two watt-hour meters in the industrial building for two shore ties and provide a new 600 amp fused switch in existing panelboard. Performance time of 90 days. Estimated cost range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Bid guarantee, payment and performance bonds are required. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Concerns who previously requested this project under the pre-solicitation notice (3/02/95) need not request again. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by this agency. The Department of Transportation (DOT) office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.00.
