COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF june 19,1995 PSA#1370Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Procurement Department, L-650,
P. O. Box 5012, Livermore, CA 94551 A -- RADIOANALYTICAL ANALYSES DUE 063095 POC Bill Karleskind! (510)
422-7503 The University of California, Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory, seeks sources for potential analytical laboratories that
would be interested in performing radioanalytical analyses. The
required matrices for these analyses would be sea water, water with
high Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), sediment, and solids (fish/aquatic
biota), for the analysis of 226Ra and 228Ra nuclides with a required
detection limit of 0.01 pCi/g. This work will require gamma
spectrometry and may also include Photon Electron Rejecting Alpha
Liquid Scintillation (PERALS), Alpha Spectroscopy, or liquid
scintillation counting. LLNL is developing a specific radium method for
these matrices for an outside customer and resulting contract work
would originate with that customer and not the University of
California, although LLNL will serve as the technical lead for this
work. The intent of this study is to assess for our outside customer
the commercial viability and reliability of the method currently under
development. Participation in performance evaluation programs
(Environmental Measurements Laboratory and Environmental Monitoring
Surveillance Laboratory) is preferred but lack of participation will
not disqualify a laboratory from participating in the study. Interested
firms should respond with a description of qualifications with respect
to the foregoing or related fields. Responses are required on or
before June 30, 1995. For further information contact Dr. Howard Hall,
