58 -- MODIFICATION TO EXISTING DATA TERMINAL CONTRACT SOL N00189-93-C-0082 DUE 071595 POC E J Gramling, Contracting Officer, Code 200AIR; 804/445-1240 - FAX 804/445-1242 The Government intends to conduct sole source negotiations with General Atronics Corporation (GAC) for the purpose of issuing a modification to existing fixed-price contract N00189-93-C-0082 to provide for modification to data terminals software and hardware to incorporate conventional Multi-Frequency Link-11; conventional Link-11 Waveform (CLEW); and LESW Satellite communications capability. All hardware and software changes, and documentation changes required to implement the operational modes into the data terminals shall be included. These modifications are required to the data terminals being provided under above referenced contract to meet the operational requirements of the fleet as directed by OPNAV. The Government does not have adequate data on the DTs to allow for competition of required modification since the DTs provided by GAC are basically non-developmental items which were developeed at GAC's expense. Only GAC has the technical expertise, and data required for proposed modification. This requirement is being synopsized for (0167)
