Morris (816) 426-7267, extension 234 Services Sources Sought: Weather Observation, maintenance of weather observation equipment and storage of supplies for eight (8) small airports throughout the State of Nebraska. Proposed contract is for a base year and two option years of services. Previous contracts for these services have been with the State of Nebraska, Division of Aeronautics, on a cost-sharing basis. In the absence of qualified responses the Government intends to contract with the State of Nebraska. Concerns who can provide all services required may provide a written, detailed response within 45 days of the date of this notice. The Government will not pay for information received. Responses will be evaluated on the following factors: (1) maintenance of Government electronic equipment which includes (on call) seven days a week emergency maintenance throughout the State of Nebraska; (2) Storage and distribution of spare parts, supplies & equipment; (3) Adequate accounting and record keeping system; (4) Training of weather observers; (5) Inspection of sites by certified personnel; (6) Adequate, properly trained and certified labor force; and (7) Cost reasonableness. A request for a copy of the solicitation will not be considered an affirmative response. This notice is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source, under the authority of FAR 6.302. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received to this notice, as this notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Governmentnot to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
