intends to issue under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-95-G-0197 with
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Incorporated (ASI), 10130 Sorrento
Valley Road, San Diego, CA 92121-1604 for the supplies and services
necessary to operate and maintain the Advanced Concept Technology
Demonstration (ACTD) Medium Altitude Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
(MAE UAV) Predator system in CONUS/OCONUS operations and deployments.
As the designer of the Predator system, General Atomics-ASI is the
only source with the technical expertise and information base required
to meet the Government's needs in the time frame available. The
statutory authority permiting this sole source procurement is Title 10
U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemeneted by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible
