28 -- ROTOR SYSTEM FOR ATARR SOL F33601-95-R-WEND POC For copy, ASC/PKWO, Attn: Bldg 260, 1940 Allbrook Dr, Ste 3, WPAFB OH 45433-5309 POC: W Kirchoff/PKWOCB/513-257-5197 Fax No 513-257-3926. Sources are being sought by Wright-Patterson AFB Ohio by the Turbine Research Facility which has a requirement for a new rotor system. The new rotor system must fit within the confines of the existing mating hardware including the existing brake hardware. The new system must accommodate turbine wheels from 50 to 300 LBM having polar moments of inertia from 2,000 LBM, IN-SQ to 42,500 LBM, IN-SQ. Maximum rotational speed is 14,000 RPM. The rotor system must be capable of absorbing thrust load of 12,000 LBF in either direction. The system must have a field balance capability. The turbine disk cavity must be sealed from the bearing brake drum cavity. Rotor system health monitoring instrumentation must be an integral part of the new rotor system. Some form of rotor damping must be incorporated. Use of the existing shaft is optional. If a new shaft is to be used it must incorporate a torque measuring capability up to 10,000 FT-LBF. Assembly and disassembly of the rotor system must be accomplished without the use of special tools. Rotor system components must not be designed for use as assembly or disassembly tools. The use of press fits are to be minimized. Please provide literature and proof of capability. Include business size. We are only looking for sources, this may or may not result in a request for proposal. (0170)
