AMRAAM SHIPPING AND STORAGE CONTAINERS, The Air-to-Air Joint Systems Program Office is contemplating an Invitation For Bid (IFB)for CNU-572 containers Specification No. SP953150010 - Dimensions:24'' X 16'' X 18. This acquisition was initially synopsized on 01/12/95, Issue No. PSA-1261 and is being resynopsized due to an increase in quantities and change to container design. Respondents to initial synopsis need not respond again. This acquisition will consist of 250 CNU-572/Es (2 preproduction, 200 production) and 43 CNU572/E containers for FMS. Preproduction deliveries are required 105 days after contract award. Delivery of production units to start 210 days after contract award. Aluminum extrusions for prepro- duction units will be provided by the government. Container deliveries shall total 30 containers per week until completed. One options is for 400 CNU-572/E containers. Two variable quantity options are for 25 to 150 CNU-572/E containers, with 100 being the most probable quantity on each. One FMS option is for 6 to 50 CNU572/E containers with the most probable being 24. All option are scheduled to be exercised approximately 31 weeks after contract award. Delivery of containers will be to Tucson AZ, Chambersburg PA, and other sites to be determined. The containers are all aluminum with non explosive polyethylene cushions. They are fabricated from double-wall aluminum extrusions which serve as the sides and ends of the container. The bottom and top are sheet aluminum with welded stacking guides to aid in stacking. The container is sealed with a silicon ''O'' ring gasket. Pressure relief valve, inspection site glasses and humidity indicators are included. The top and bottom are held together with special latches. Anticipated IFB issuance date is 5 Jul 95. Responses to this synopsis must be received within 15 days from date of publication. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered an IFB or a RFP and is not to be considered a commitment by the government.
