The Library of Congress intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Silver Image Management, Bozeman, MT to complete the conversion of cataloging photograph collections. The contractor has expertise in the cataloging of visual materials, knowledge of the record content, and knowledge of videodisc technology in addition to the knowledge of the MARC format, Minaret software, general cataloging conventions and automated conversion techniques. The remaining records are for collections of cartoon and illustration drawings, posters, and architectural drawings. The conversion of 14,878 records from a BRS to a Minaret database is required.
