National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg,
Maryland has a requirement for the construction of an Advanced
Technology laboratory (ATL)--Magnitude of Construction: $115,000,000 to
$130,000,000--The ATL is a group of five distinct, but interconnected
building masses consisting of two underground Metrology Wings, two
instrument Laboratory Wings, and a Cleanroom Wing totalling 46,351
square meters--These buildings will integrate concurrent stability in
temperature, vibration, and electrical power to create the most
environmentally stable laboratory in the world--Metric and Green
Building concepts are incorporated in the design--The proposed period
of performance is 38 months, commencing approximately June 1996 through
August 1999 based on receipt of proposals January 1996 and contract
award prior to June 1996--Contract award is subject to availability of
funds--The initial solicitation package scheduled for release in July
1995 will contain a select set of drawings, project description, and
specification outline--Complete construction documents will be issued
through a solicitation amendment approximately December
1995--Construction documents will be sold at a price established at
that time--NIST plans to conduct pre-proposal conferences and site
visits at dates to be announced--All responsible sources may submit a
proposal which will be considered by the agency-- Solicitation requests
