Research and Technology Maturation Research for Avionics, SOL JAST
95-4. The purpose of this synopsis is to provide advance information on
the Joint Strike Technology (JAST) Program Broad Agency Announcement
(BAA) 95-4. Proposals will be due by 1200 hours, Eastern Standard Time,
19 September 1995. Introduction: The JAST Program Office, Washington,
D.C. is planning to solicit proposals (technical and cost) on the
avionics research efforts summarized below. Following the House
National Security Committee Report recommendation to decrease FY96
funding for Supportability and Training, training and mission planning
requirements have been deleted from this BAA. A Draft BAA Information
Package provides detailed information on the objectives of the BAA,
deliverables, and proposal preparation and submission requirements.
Industry is being offered the opportunity to comment on this Draft BAA
Information Package, with responses due 7 July 1995. Interested
companies who would like to receive the Draft BAA Information Package,
may contact CDR Robert L. Moses via INTERNET at
mosesr@ntrprs.jast.mil, by fax at (703) 602 0593, or by calling (703)
602-7390 x6609. The draft BAA information package will be provided on
3.5 inch disk in Microsoft Word 6.0 for Windows, by mail or it may be
picked-up at the JAST Program Office. Only one copy will be provided
per contractor. BAA requirements. 1) Technical Description: avionics
integrated technology demonstrations for multifunction integrated radio
frequency systems (MIRFS) and integrated core processing (ICP). The
awards will directly support the plans documented by the JAST Avionics
Integrated Product Team within the JAST Avionics Architecture
Definition Document version 1.0, the JAST Avionics Concept Development
and Demonstration (JACDD) Plan version 1.0, and the JAST Avionics
Technology Integration and Prototyping (ATIP) Plans. These documents
can be accessed through the JAST World Wide Web (WWW) server. (You may
ftp anonymously to www.jast.mil.) 2) Anticipated Period of
Performance: MIRFS - Nov 1995 through Apr 1999; ICP - Nov 1995 through
Nov 1999. 3) Expected award date: 10 November 1995. 4) Contract
Awards: MIRFS - Anticipate 2 contracts may be awarded, total funding
available is $119M; ICP - Anticipate 2 contracts may be awarded, total
funding available is $79.5M; 5) Type of contracts anticipated:
Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF). Written questions and comments on the Draft
