Mallgrave (301) 975-6330 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for an upgrade to the four (4) main elevators in Building 101, Gaithersburg, MD. The upgrade will include, but is not limited to, replacing the controller, motor- generators, hall and car push buttons, door re-openers, and travelling cables. Only one elevator shall be under repair at a time. Operations, testing or repair work requiring more than one elevator out of service shall be performed out-of-hours. The contract may contain one option for the removal of the existing draw-out circuit breakers in the existing switchboard and provision of new draw-out circuit brakers with a government furnished shunt-trip device; and the installation of new thermal detectors to be mounted in the elevator pit. Completion of the upgrade is required 300 days after contract award. It is anticipated that the award will be a firm fixed price contract. Complete specifications and drawings will be available with the solicitation package on or about July 15, 1995, with bids due 30 days after date of issuance. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. (0171)
