R -- PROVIDE WESTERN RANGE OPERATION/MAINTENANCE TECHNICAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES AT VANDENBERG AFB CA Sol F04684-95-R-0020. The 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg AFB CA intends to award a contact to begin performance 01 October 1996, with four one-year options, for Western Range Operation/Maintenance Technical and Support Services at Vandenberg AFB CA (A two-month phase-in will begin about 01 Aug 96). The general scope of this requirement is as follows: O&M of instrumentation, related data transfer/processing systems and facilities, modernization of range systems, flight and range safety, analytical studies, resource control and system scheduling, engineering from design and fabrication through installation and testing of systems modifications, related support services, and the capability to respond to changes in Western Test Range and VAFB mission requirements. A top secret security clearance is required. Work to be performed at multi/varying sites, but primarily at VAFB within Santa Barbara County. An extensive document library to assist in proposal planning/preparation will soon be available; and a period in which offerors may participate in a site visit will begin this fall. The purpose of this notice is to invite firms interested in proposing on this effort as prime contractors to participate in the planning of the acquisition. The Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) will be issued in the June 1995 timeframe. You may request a copy of this advance acquisition package. When you have had an opportunity to review our tentative approach reflected in this package, you are encouraged to meet with us for one-one-one discussions to recommend changes or improvements. At this point this requirement is open to small and large business. In your request please state your business size, i.e. Large, Small, 8(a), Small-Disadvantaged. Please provide your advance package request in writing and be sure to submit your firms' descriptive literature with your request. Descriptive literature will be at no cost to the Government and will not be used in to evaluate your firm but to give the Government an idea of what is currently available in the operation/maintenance and technical/support services arena. When the acquisition planning is complete, we will issue a pre-solicitation announcement (approximately October 1995 timeframe) in the CBD giving finalized details of the acquisition, at which time all interested parties will be invited to request the solicitation.
