This project is for painting services at the Propulsion Wind Tunnel (PWT) crane at Arnold Engineering Development Center (Arnold Air Force Base), Tennessee. The work involves the blast cleaning and painting of approximately 80,000 sq ft of moderate to light structural steel of a bridge crane support structure. The structure is coated with a failed lead-pigmented paint system over mill scale. The structure is a support for two bridge cranes and has two parallel A-frame structures. The entire crane structure is approximately 550 ft long by 150 ft wide at the base by 110 ft high at the trusses. The Phase II area is to be blast-cleaned, primed, and painted in compliance with OSHA and all other applicable federal and State of Tennessee regulations for lead-paint removal. Paint removal includes 100% containment of all lead paint and debris. Performance period shall be 365 calendar days following receipt of a written notice to proceed. The order of magnitude for this work is estimated between $1M and $5M. Any interested firm may submit a bid which will be considered. Foreign participation is authorized.
