The Kansas City and Denver regional offices of Job Corps are announcing a market research/advertising contract to assist with the development and implementation of a marketing plan to attract economically disadvantaged young adults, ages 18-24, to apply for vocational training programs funded through the Department of Labor. These offices administer 14 residential training facilities in a 10-state area (Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah). A wide variety of occupational training courses are offered as well as development of academic and work/social skills and placement assistance upon completion. The Department of Labor provides full tuition, room, and board for approximately 5,000 training slots at a given time. Over the period of a year graduations and other types of terminations create the need for about 5,400 young men and 3,600 young women to maintain full capacity at the training facilities. Assistance is needed to attract sufficient numbers of eligible young adults, especially women, with the potential for success. The resulting contract will be for the period of October 1, 1995, through September 30, 1996, with two 1-year options. A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 p.m., July 12, 1995, at the Kansas City regional office of Job Corps, City Center Square Building, Suite 1000, 1100 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64105.
