A qualified contractor shall provide landscaping and grounds maintenance services for the US Merchant Marine Academy during the period of 1 October 1995 - 30 September 1996, with the possibility of four (4) option years to follow. Offerors shall be required to bid on all periods. Award of a firm-fixed price contract is contemplated. Six workers shall be required for the April - October timeframe and four workers shall be required for the November - March timeframe. These teams shall be required five days per week. Services shall include, but not be limited to, lawn mowing, trimming and edging, leaf collection, maintenance of trees and shrubs, minor road repairs and snow and ice removal. The contractor must maintain a management office in this geographic area to provide additional personnel to the Academy on short notice for work beyond normal work hours, or for those special events listed in the solicitation. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small business. The applicable small business standard is $5,000,000, and the standard industrial classification is 0782.
