504/361-2150. This is a presolicitation notice only. Do not request
plans now. The work includes the rehabilitation of an existing
partially paved parking area, to construct an asphaltic concrete
surfaced parking lot with a capacity of 213 vehicles. Overlay of
existing pavement, new pavement and removal and replacement of existing
pavement is included. New and replacement pavement will include a 6''
aggregate base course with 3'' to 6'' of river sand on the excavated
subgrade. Adjusting 3 existing water valve boxes, one sewer manhole and
4 drainage inlet boxes to match the new grade, and new grates and
frames on two of the drainage inlet boxes is also included. Lighting
will be provided by installing lamps n timber poles and constructing an
overhead connection to the existing power line. The work also includes
striping, installation of wheel stops and incidental related work.
This proposed acquisition is being considered for 100 percent set-aside
for small disadvantaged business concerns. THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION
MUST BE SUBMITTED. Interested SDB concerns should notify this office in
writing of their intention to bid the project as prime contractor as
early as possible but NLT 05 JULY 1995. This notification must include
a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and
economially business concern, evidence of capacity to obtain required
bonds from an approved surety and specific info which demonstrates the
capability to perform projects of this complexity and magnitude.
Complete info concerning management experience in similar work and
current financial statement shall be submitted with references. IF THE
REQUESTED INFORMATION IS NOT RECEIVED FROM AN ADEQUATE NUMBER OF SDB
CONCERNS, THE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS.
Even if you have sent the above information on a prior contract, you
must submit documentation that will become a part of this solicitation
file. Therefore replies to this office are requested from all
interested business concerns as well as from small disadvantaged
business concerns. Estimated cost is between $100,000.00 and
$250,000.00. The following tentative dates apply: Issue invitations
08/01; open bids 08/31; time for contract completion 135 calendar days.
